I'm living in the "bride tribe" side of a wedding I'm living in the "bride tribe" side of a wedding this weekend. We don't have a watercolor dance floor wrap but we do have a disco ball, a fog machine and a lot of excitement. Fully anticipating core memories will be made 🍻. Fired up the grill at 9pm last night. Such a summ Fired up the grill at 9pm last night. Such a summer thing. Grilling is a new thing for me but it holds SO much nostalgia. Throws back to great meals from my brothers and my dad. Throws back to that intimate summer wedding on Mullett Lake where the bride's uncle grilled everyone steak. Throws back to last summer's rehearsal dinner on Glen Lake when bounties of the grill were enjoyed as sunset painted the sky and wine warmed the conversation. Throws back to this 2020 adventure elopement in Utah. A baker's dozen people, fresh in from the desert where they made scenes that would make a splash on the internet, would get picked up by a few publications, would be seen by tens of thousands of people. But that night, they dined on maple grilled salmon under pampas grass and market lights at an airbnb. I snapped this first shot from the corner of the deck, next to the grill. Cheers to summer grilling season and all the great memories it evokes.

Something about intentional nostalgia heightens the awareness that a wedding day is making core memories, creating nostalgia to reflect on for future years. My favorite "office season" activities are client My favorite "office season" activities are client meetings and design boards. This weekend had both and bonus that the client meetings involved great food. In fact, since the snow melted a few weeks ago, the pace of meetings has spiked and the anticipation for summer is running as high as the flurry of preparation.
