Glen Lake Yacht Club Wedding – juniper + lace events

Glen Lake has to be one of the most striking bodies of water in the country with its vivid hues of blue and turquoise in a landscape of sand dunes. I met Sam and Jordan on the back deck of the local Glen Lake Yacht Club overlooking those striking blue waters on a Labor Day weekend, one year before their wedding. We let the lake start our first conversation and it inspired twelve months of conversations and an incredible weekend of celebrating, captured by Greyscale Group.

Lawn games under market lights at the locally famous Cherry Republic in Glen Lake’s bustling village of Glen Arbor kicked off the weekend on Thursday. Guests dressed in white for a Friday welcome reception at the lake house, hosted by Sam’s parents and complete with fajitas, margaritas, frose, and Moomers ice cream.

Saturday kicked off with photos at the dunes, a beautiful ceremony in the charming country chapel, St. Joseph’s on Leelanau Peninsula. After a quick group photo inside the church, shuttles transported guests to cocktails at the yacht docks. Dinner was set on the patio overlooking Glen Lake where our first conversation about framing the view with a little drape came to life under fern chandeliers. Rattan chargers and mixed ferns on the tablescape incorporated natural texture for an earthy elegant vibe to compliment the lake that inspired us from the beginning. Midway thru dinner, a largescale print of the ceremony group photo was delivered and a print for each of the families became the memorable favor of the evening. A donut wall and the energetic music of Mac Daddy band fueled the night of dancing on that patio overlooking Glen Lake.
